Landscapes in watercolour

by Michael Moore

From his interest in developing the tradition of English landscape painting Mike produces finely crafted watercolours depicting idyllic rural scenes.  He develops his paintings through watercolours to a final painting in oil, occasionally taking inspiration from 19th century engravings. Influenced by Turner he is keenly aware of the relationship between light and water, giving each piece the feel of a warm summer day in England.
Mike has lived in Derbyshire for many years and has painted for most of his life.  He is an artist member of the Fine Art Trade Guild an has exhibited around the UK, in Jersey and the United States.
He now lives in Rainow in Cheshire, where he paints and runs an art school. www.michaelmooreart.co.uk
