The Derwent Gallery is situated in a beautiful Peak District location
close to Chatsworth House, Padley Gorge and Stanage Edge, loved for
walking and rock climbing, with the towns of Bakewell, Chesterfield and
Buxton and the cities of Sheffield, Manchester and Nottingham on its
doorstep. The Gallery's reputation has been based on the high
proportion of original British art for sale and the quality of its
presentation with all the pictures being framed at the gallery. The
landscape paintings represent a broad range of media of watercolour
paintings, oil and acrylic paintings, with pastel and pencil drawings,
monoprints and landscape photography, including a selection of limited
editions and prints. There are regular art exhibitions by Derbyshire
artists and Sheffield artists and special featured displays of themed
contemporary work.
